SC appoints two new managing directors

PETALING JAYA:
Two senior executives at the Securities Commission (SC) have been promoted to new roles while one of them will leave to pursue other interests.

In an announcement to the media today, the SC said Kamarudin Hashim and Azalina Adham had assumed their new roles as managing directors with effect from Jan 1.

As managing directors, Kamarudin and Azalina will assist the SC chairman in setting the overall strategic direction for the Malaysian capital market while overseeing capital market regulation and development.

Apart from that, both will continue in their current roles. Kamarudin oversees market and corporate supervision while Azalina is in charge of strategy and policy.

The SC also announced the departure of Zainal Izlan Zainal Abidin, who will step down as deputy chief executive on Jan 11.
