BANGKOK:
Energy Absolute has developed an all-electric truck as one of Thailand’s largest renewable power producers branches out to electric vehicles, adding to its lineup of electric boats and buses.

The MT30 mini trucks are slated to start deliveries early next year and are equipped with lithium-ion batteries that have a capacity of 30 kilowatt-hours. A single charge delivers a maximum range of about 200km.

Energy Absolute will debut the electric truck at a Bangkok motor show in December. The company will start taking orders at the event with main customers anticipated to be logistics companies.

The price has been set at between 748,500 Thai baht and 766,500 Thai baht (US$19,537-US$20,007).

Yearly capacity is expected to be 5,000 to 6,000 vehicles, and production could be increased depending on demand. Energy Absolute is keeping the entire manufacturing process in-house, from the design stage and battery production to vehicle assembly.

Energy Absolute seeks to expand its customer base by offering both electric vehicles and power from renewable energy. The company will next develop large trucks and passenger vehicles.
