BENGHAZI:
Local protesters prevented the loading of oil on to tankers today at Es Sidra and Ras Lanuf ports in Libya, a major oil producer, five engineers from the facilities told Reuters.

In a statement addressed to the country’s state-run National Oil Corporation last week, the protesters demanded the relocation of several oil company headquarters to the Oil Crescent region, calling for a fair development of their coastal area to improve living conditions.

Protests have also disrupted oil operations previously, including in January last year when they forced a shutdown of production at the Sharara oilfield.
