“All ministers in the Cabinet remain united and solid in assisting the president to lead the government until the end of his term in office,” said the official, Ari Dwipayana, according to news website CNBC Indonesia.
The information on resignations initially came from CNBC Indonesia, which quoted senior economist Faisal Basri as saying a number of ministers were planning to quit, including finance minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati, amid concerns of ethical breaches in government.
Reports by several other news outlets quoted Basri calling for some ministers to resign, including Sri Mulyani. The reports did not mention a plan to quit, however.
Basri, Ari Dwipayana and the finance ministry’s spokesman did not immediately respond to separate Reuters’s requests for comment.
Sri Mulyani, who is in Davos, Switzerland to attend the World Economic Forum, did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
