THE HAGUE:
The International Court of Justice said Monday that Britain should “rapidly” give up control of the Chagos Islands, an archipelago at the centre of a decades-old dispute with Mauritius that is home to a key US airbase.

“The United Kingdom is under an obligation to bring to an end to its administration of the Chagos Archipelago as rapidly as possible, thereby allowing Mauritius to complete the decolonisation of its territory,” the court said in a non-binding legal opinion.
