Noel Cintron, who drove the businessman for more than 25 years before Trump became president, sued the Trump Organisation in July for about 3,300 hours of overtime that he said he worked in the past six years. He couldn’t sue for overtime prior to that due to the statute of limitations. He had been seeking about US$200,000 in damages.

The Trump Organisation said after the lawsuit was filed that Cintron was paid “generously and in accordance with the law.” It asked a federal judge to force the dispute into arbitration, saying that the driver had agreed to such proceedings in an employment agreement.

Larry Hutcher, an attorney representing Cintron, said in an email Thursday that the dispute hasn’t been settled and both sides agreed to have it arbitrated.

The case is Cintron v. Trump Organisation LLC, Supreme Court, State of New York (Manhattan).
