Bedok Police Division officers and the Public Transport Security Command traced and detained the 27-year-old owner of the bags in the same area, with information provided by SMRT staff, reported The Straits Times.
Singapore police, in a statement, said they treat all security threats seriously and will not hesitate to take action against anyone who intentionally causes public alarm.
This follows the arrest of two men, aged 25 and 27, on May 26 after they left three bags unattended at the same MRT station.
The police reminded the public not to leave personal belongings unattended.
“Any suspicious items or behaviour should be reported to MRT staff or to the police immediately.”
A person can be fined up to S$1,000 (RM3,093) if convicted of a public nuisance offence.
