KUANTAN:
A video began circulating on social media of a couple who had stopped to rescue a wild dog seemingly caught in a trap on the side of Karak Highway.

The video, which ran for more than three minutes, showed a man named Nahur Omar attempting to pacify the trapped animal with coos and pets.

Though he tried his best to set the dog free, it was apparently more complicated than expected as the dog’s neck had been caught in sharp barbed wires attached to a tree branch.

The lady behind the video can be heard saying in Tamil that there were some traces of blood around the dog’s neck.

More and more passersby stopped to help, including a group of cyclists, but to no avail.

Fortunately, a motorcyclist who witnessed the incident used his utility knife to cut the branch attached to the wire.

This made the process of untangling the wire much easier and the dog eventually was set free.

The video ended with the cyclist offering Nahur water to wash his hands with.

With all the doom and gloom surrounding 2020, it’s truly a touching sight to see Malaysians of all races band together to save a helpless animal.
