Kids and teens enjoy the theme parks filled with thrilling and terrifying rides. Adults long for the cool, chilly air, while older folks try their luck at the casino’s slot machines.
That would explain why Genting Highlands is always teeming with people, doubly so on weekends, public holidays and festive seasons.

The next time you’re in Genting Highlands, there’s one good attraction to visit if you wish to get away from the crowds.
It’s Ripley’s Adventureland, located on the highest floor of Genting’s Sky Avenue. This attraction is based on the old television series “Ripley’s Believe it or Not”.
The Ripley’s Believe It or Not! Odditorium, acts as the main draw of the place. Here, you’ll find all sorts of oddities, some that will make you squirm.

You can easily spend about an hour here, and it is safe to say that both kids and adults with find the exhibits quite intriguing.
There’s the Iron Man sculpture made from car parts, and portraits of infamous world leaders painted on cockroaches.
There is also a hall dedicated to optical illusions. One room is worth a photography session, with the slanted floor making people look bigger or smaller than they really are.
The Jurassic Research Centre meanwhile is likely to be every aspiring anthropologist’s nirvana. Based on the film series of the same name, here you’ll find an assortment of dinosaurs; sadly, they are animatronics rather than living creatures.

Famous dinosaurs including the long-necked Brachiosaurus and the fearsome Tyrannosaurus Rex await visitors, startling the occasional visitor when they move without warning.
Photo opportunities are plenty; so, snap away and share photos online detailing your escape from a Velociraptor pack.
Placards are provided, giving curious visitors an insight into how these magnificent creatures lived so long ago.
There are also fossils in one of the exhibition halls, often life-size to show just how big these dinosaurs were.

The 4D Trick Art Museum is a dream come true for any Instagrammer. The walls are covered with colourful and imaginative paintings, apparently by South Korean artists. Through the use of optical illusion, these artworks provide amazing photo opportunities.
So, strike your best pose, and let the shutterbugs have a field day. And even if you don’t feel like taking photos, the artworks are a pretty interesting sight on their own.

The Infinity Room is also worth checking out if you’re a photography enthusiast, though it may be hard to find. Just keep an eye out for the snooker area, then ask the staff there for assistance.
There is a hall of mirrors here too, fascinating for those looking to self-reflect – literally – as well as an upside-down house, where life is topsy-turvy. It is an interesting place, which makes it strange that there are so few signages indicating its existence.
Last but not least is an attraction not for the faint-hearted. Zombie Outbreak is essentially a recreation of a haunted house attraction, with actors and animatronics waiting to scare the living daylights out of you.

You’re bound to let out a scream at some point as you are led from one room to the next, with ghouls popping out from nowhere and actors roaring their hearts out as you pass. Certainly not for young kids or the elderly.
For a more kid-friendly area, try the Jungle Gym as it’s where children can play to their hearts’ content.
Either way, the next time you visit Genting Highlands, do consider dropping by Ripley’s Adventureland for a crowd-free experience.
