PETALING JAYA:
Ater a two-year hiatus due to the pandemic, Malaysia’s largest pet exhibition returns.

“Pet Fiesta 2022: The City Comes Alive!” welcomes one and all to an exciting three-day event in Setia Alam, Selangor, that caters to the every need, whim and fancy of animal lovers and their non-human companions.

The expo, which began in 2014 and is now in its seventh iteration, includes exhibitors from all categories of the industry.

Awaiting guests are products and services by global brands, local pet stores, and small homegrown businesses such as Purina, Bark2Basics, Frontline, Tropiclean, Coco & Joe BARF, MAOUP Malaysia, DrPets, Louis Bak Kwa, and JoJo PetDriver, among many others.

Enjoy yourselves in the expansive indoor exhibition area as well as the outdoor playground, where you and your pets are welcome to meet-and-greet from a safe social distance.

Visitors can look forward to huge discounts and special sales, contests and much more. Come together as birds of a feather to experience the “parrot free fly” competition, and stand to win great prizes during the lucky draw.

Kids will have fun admiring beautiful animals at the petting zoo, while those who are looking to expand their family might find a potential new member at the onsite adoption drive.

If you’re not so much a fan of the furry and feathered, perhaps the Reptile Kingdom would be more to your liking.

And once you’ve tired yourself checking out the various exhibits and product booths, why not relax and recharge with a nice cuppa at the pet café?

Elaine Lai, project director of organiser Expoworks, tells FMT that Pet Fiesta 2022 is all about promoting responsible pet care and rebuilding the industry after the pandemic.

“Our exhibitors are thrilled to be able to show pet owners the most recent innovations in pet food, accessories, and services – something that has been sorely missed by pet owners during the last two years,” she says.

So head on over to Shah Alam this weekend, and bring your two-, four- or multi-legged companions along. Just make sure they’re leashed – or contained in the case of snakes, spiders and bugs (yes, they are welcome, too… no discrimination here!).

Hand-carry toy breeds or keep them in a carrier or stroller; ensure your less-social companions behave themselves; and – it can’t be stressed enough – always clean up after any messes!

Pet Fiesta 2022 runs this Friday to Sunday (March 25-27) at Setia City Convention Centre in Shah Alam, from 11am to 9pm. Entrance fee is RM5 for adults, while admission is free for children below age 12, senior citizens, and the disabled.
