Solo travelling can be one of the most rewarding things you will ever do, as it allows you to create your own adventure, learn to be more organised and independent, and overcome new challenges.

As domestic tourism is back in full operation, why not seize the chance to explore attractions around the state? Here are five things you can do as a solo traveller.

1. Fish at Pulau Ketam

Pulau Ketam, located near Port Klang, has been a popular spot for fishing over the years. Hop on a ferry or private speedboat from Port Klang, and take in the sight of mangrove swamps, fish farms, boats, and houses on stilts along the way.

At the famed fishing village itself, spend quality time in a quiet and serene environment with nothing but your fishing gear and your thoughts.

2. Discover Malaysia’s automotive industry

The National Automobile Museum is located at the Sepang International Circuit and showcases the evolution of the country’s automotive industry.

The ground floor of the museum spans almost 750 sq m and highlights the history of Malaysia’s transportation system and early-produced cars, while the first level, spanning just over 980 sq m, focuses on Malaysia’s motoring industry in general.

3. Feast in Kuala Selangor

When you are travelling alone, you simply have to sample the various food options along the way.

Mee Udang Banjir in Kuala Selangor serves up large prawns and noodles in an absolutely delicious gravy at an affordable price, making this the perfect place to start your food hunt. The best part is, you won’t have to share with anyone!

4. Engage with Selangor’s communities

5. Shop and splurge
