As Malaysians are gearing up to travel again, some might want to be closer to nature, while others might opt for a relaxing time at the beach, or hit the road and explore a new destination.
Here are six relatively little-known places in Selangor that are perfect for a solo trip or with friends and family.
1. Sungai Lepoh waterfall
Sungai Lepoh waterfall, located in Hulu Langat near Pangsoon Village, is a haven for nature lovers. Surrounded by flora and fauna, this destination offers picturesque views, while the water itself is beautiful and crystal clear.
Whether you decide to go for a hike, watch the birds, or have a picnic by the river, this is the perfect spot for a day out.
2. Sky Mirror

The Sky Mirror in Kuala Selangor is also known as Malaysia’s very own “Salar de Uyuni”, owing to its similarities with the attraction in Bolivia where a dry lake reveals a desertlike landscape of bright-white salt and rock formations.
The Sky Mirror is actually a seabed that appears during low tide, exposing unparalleled views of the sand and sky. It is only accessible during certain times of the month, and for just a few hours a day.
Sasaran Beach is also an ideal destination for those hoping to escape the hustle and bustle of city life. Do not forget to wear vibrant-coloured clothes on your visit as they pop in photos!
3. Sungai Selangor dam

The Sungai Selangor dam is one of the best spots for stargazing activity.
The dam, which began operations in 2003, is an ideal getaway for those who enjoy astrophotography as the isolated location, surrounded by hills and lakes, is shielded from external lights.
4. Kelanang Beach

Kelanang Beach is located in the Kuala Langat district, about a 20-minute drive away from Banting town. The beach offers a beautiful sunset and breathtaking views of the ocean.
There are many picnic and camping spots, making this the perfect location for a day out with your family, or if you are looking for a place where you can relax and get some peace of mind.
5. Secret Garden @ 1 Utama Shopping Centre

The Secret Garden was built on the rooftop of 1 Utama Shopping Centre, occupying almost 2,800 sq m of space. It displays more than 500 species of exotic and tropical flora, all of which are carefully nurtured.
Admission is free and open to the public on Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays from 10am-10pm.
6. Gasing Hill

Gasing Hill, located in Petaling Jaya town, is part of the Gasing Hill Forest Reserve. The location is ideal for recreational activities and is well-known among hikers.
The forest stretches within an area of approximately 52 ha with a height of 164m. Enjoy breathtaking views of the city and skyscrapers once you reach the peak.
