Selangor has finally entered Phase 3 of the National Recovery Plan, and with travel permitted once again, why not check out some of the beaches in the state?

Here are six locations in Selangor where you and your family and friends can relax and unwind over the weekend. Enjoy a picnic on the shore, go for a swim in the sea, or take in a beautiful sunset.

1. Remis Beach, Kuala Selangor

Remis Beach, a popular ecotourism destination in the Jeram district, is “back in business”.

This 2km stretch is often crowded with visitors enjoying fresh seafood such as grilled fish and grilled and boiled mussels, while relaxing with friends and family.

2. Kelanang Beach, Banting

Kelanang Beach offers a breathtaking view of the Straits of Malacca surrounded by mangrove and ru trees.

With stunning sunsets accompanied by cool breezes, it is an ideal location for kite-flying and other recreational activities. It even has a playground for your children’s funtime.

3. Cunang Beach, Kuala Langat

A relatively hidden location in Tanjung Sepat, Cunang Beach is managed by the indigenous community of Mah Meri and is complemented by traditional houses, colourful decorations and handicraft shops.

With the opportunity to engage in activities such as fishing and cycling, Cunang has turned into one of the most popular tourist destinations in Selangor.

4. Bagan Lalang Beach, Sepang

Located about an hour’s drive from Kuala Lumpur, Bagan Lalang is a holiday destination well-loved by families with children.

Walk “into the ocean” up to 400m during low tide, and take your young ones to see the baby crabs in the sand.

5. Redang Beach, Sekinchan

If you are in Sabak Bernam and want a switch away from the paddy-field scenery, why not experience the lifestyle of the fisherfolk in this area? Redang Beach is conveniently located next to several restaurants, where you can enjoy a wide variety of fresh and delicious seafood.

This location is known for its waterfowl and shorebirds such as egrets, waders and terns, and is also a good spot for spotting hermit crabs.

6. Morib Beach, Banting
