The pandemic has impacted animal shelters, putting a halt to adoption drives and causing many to be in dire need of funds and support.

But despite the challenges, many organisations are continuing with their efforts at saving stray animals and matching them with kind humans in need of a faithful companion.

Among them is Voice For Paws, which was founded in 2019 and is made up of 12 individuals who have made it their mission to rescue, foster and rehome strays. Its vice-president, Lydia Nathan, told FMT that the non-profit has helped more than 200 dogs and 20 cats find their forever homes.

“When you rescue a dog, they show you love and loyalty like no other, and even cats show you a lot of gratitude. That’s what makes it worthwhile,” Lydia said.

Here are four lovely dogs currently in Voice For Paws’ care who are looking for their forever homes.

Jayden

Jayden is a spunky seven-month-old who was rescued with his five siblings and his mother who had broken her leg.

She was being fed by a kind family who asked Voice For Paws to help rescue her. The team took them off the streets and allowed the mum to continue nursing the pups until they were old enough.

Jayden is a gentle soul with plenty of personality. He loves walks and runs, is very playful and active, and will suit someone with a healthy lifestyle.

At the same time, he makes for a fantastic companion as he enjoys sitting on the couch and sleeping in bed with you.

Jayden is neutered and fully vaccinated.

Bessie

Bessie is a two-month-old girl who was rescued from a large monsoon drain. She was all alone, without any mother or siblings.

Bessie is full of life, loves running around and playing, and gets along well with cats and other dogs. She is a loving, sweet girl who will fit well into a family environment with the space for her to run in.

She has received her first vaccine shot, so the adopter will have to follow up to ensure she is fully vaccinated.

Zellah

Zellah is a beautiful seven-month-old who is vocal and vivacious. She is a playful puppy who enjoys walks and chasing after a ball, and gets along well with other dogs as well as children.

Zellah was rescued from a bus station and is the last of her batch to be rehomed.

Momma Dee

Momma Dee is a sweet, gentle mother dog who was thrown out from a mechanic’s shop. She is about two years old, calm, sweet, and has a great temperament with both dogs and cats.

She will be perfect for someone who leads a more relaxed lifestyle and is looking for a companion.

Momma Dee has been fully vaccinated and spayed, and is in perfect health.
