Some simply can’t because they live in apartments that have a strict no-pet policy. Others don’t have the room for a little pooch and four kids all living under one roof. And what about those too deep in work and family commitments to find the time to care for a dog?
If you’re a dog-lover but cannot have a dog of your own at this point in your life, why not consider sponsoring a dog instead?
KLPooch Resort and Rescue is currently seeking sponsors for their Sponsor-A-Pooch campaign so dogs in their care have a chance at a better quality of life before being adopted by their forever families.
If you haven’t heard of KLPooch yet, you’ll be happy to know it is an animal haven with boarding facilities and a dog rescue centre.
There are 250 dogs of all shapes, sizes and temperaments living there at the moment, enjoying the serenity and security of its grounds.
The centre is meant to be a temporary home for these dogs as they wait for new forever homes across the horizon.
Through the Sponsor-A-Pooch campaign, dog lovers can care for these dogs while not having to be physically there to feed, bathe or walk them.

Speaking to FMT, a KLPooch spokesman explained that for some dog lovers, sponsorship is simply more practical than adoption.
“Some people love dogs but can’t own one. Thus, sponsoring a dog is ideal for them, as they can also visit their sponsored dogs whenever they like.”
The Sponsor-A-Pooch campaign begins on June 25 and will end on June 27, with eight dogs up for sponsorship.
The centre’s younger volunteers have incorporated the BTS boy band craze into the campaign to help bring more attention to the plight of these adorable dogs.
The BTS theme involves Instagram filters often used with photographs of the members of the Korean boy band, albeit now with the faces of eight lucky dogs rather than the superstars.

For a tidy sum of RM88 a month, dog lovers can ensure that each of the eight dogs, which previously risked being euthanised, neglected or abused, will receive long-term care.
“The fixed sponsorship fee will go towards looking after a dog of their choice. We will then send photos or video updates of the dog to the sponsor from time to time,” the spokesman said.
Additionally, dog lovers can choose to sponsor more than one dog or alternatively, contribute to KLPooch’s wishlist.
With these dogs sponsored, it may just be possible for KLPooch to reallocate resources to save other dogs on the street.
If you wish to sponsor a four-legged friend through the Sponsor-A-Pooch campaign, get in touch with KLPooch by calling 012-396 0977 or follow them on Instagram, Facebook or their website.
