Name? Kobe. Age? One year and nine months. Profession? Chief Happiness Officer.
This may seem like something quite out of the ordinary to most employers and the everyday professional, but not for the officegoers of graphic design company Brandripe.
Kobe does indeed have a job, and he takes it very seriously. As chief happiness officer at his present “office”, it is this little French Bulldog’s duty to ensure that everybody in the company is all smiles, all the time.
Had a tiff with your colleague or boss? Take it up with Mr Kobe, and he will sort you right out. Feeling down in the dumps lately? Speak to Mr Kobe and he will instantly lift the burden off your shoulders simply by being a good (and mostly quiet) listener.
It’s no wonder that all his colleagues are productive!
But don’t think that this is just some facade for Kobe though, as besides spreading happiness at work, he is also a motivational speaker on his Instagram channel, where he shares his paw-sitive thoughts with his viewers.
Clearly, Kobe is the epitome of walking the talk and practising what he preaches.

However, being a true professional and upstanding member of society, Kobe highly believes in work-life balance.
He takes his downtime as seriously as he does work.
And how exactly does he do this? By getting much-needed rest, of course.
He naps a lot and can do it anytime, anywhere as long as he is in the comfort of his home and around his humans. In fact, just gazing into his humans’ eyes has the ability to knock him out like a light – no warning whatsoever.
“He’s afraid of heights and won’t go up the stairs, but he can sleep through thunder!” says his owner, Ruhana.
Recuperating aside, Kobe takes time for a little bit of exercise and goes for walks where he will also “socialise” with other neighbourhood pups.
Sometimes, he brings out every single toy he owns – not to show off, but simply to share the joy with others.
If you’re lucky, he might show you this nifty little trick he knows, which, according to Ruhana, is “a combination of a paw handshake, other paw, high five and fist bump – in that exact order.”
Kobe realises the importance of having fun and isn’t afraid of looking silly at all. After all, to give your 100% at work, you must be 100% happy at home.

Now, Kobe doesn’t cook – his humans do – but that doesn’t stop him from pulling his weight and “cleaning up” any mess on the floor, especially if it’s fruits.
“He loves fruits. Banana, papaya, strawberries – you name it,” says Ruhana, who also adds that Kobe isn’t really a fan of dry kibbles.
Once matters of the stomach have been settled, Kobe is sure to get back on that “resting mode”, as he does need to have plenty of energy to keep making people happy.
“Kobe has his own bed, with all his toys. He usually walks up to his bed at about 10pm and just goes to sleep.
“But more often than not, he likes to sleep under a reading chair that we have.”
FMT bets he’s just studying up how to better himself in the art of making people happy at the office and at home. Now that is one dedicated pup!
