BIRMINGHAM: Diving duo Nur Dhabitah Sabri-Wendy Ng Yan Yee bagged a second medal for the diving team at the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games, winning silver in the women’s 3m springboard synchro.
They recorded 299.85 points at the Sandwell Aquatics Centre to finish behind Maddison Keeney-Anabelle Luce Smith of Australia (316.53 points). Bronze went to Canadian pair Margo Claire Erlam-Mia Jolie Doucet Vallee (297.00 points).
An elated Wendy, who had participated at three Commonwealth Games, said: “I’m grateful and proud to have Dhabitah as my partner and we are proud of ourselves.”
Dhabitah added: “Our performance was really good. At the World Aquatics Championships in Budapest last month it was not like that.”
Dhabitah-Wendy partnered for the first time in more than a year to score 282.45 points and finished sixth in Hungary.
Dhabitah will return to the pool later with Pandelela Rinong in the women’s 10m platform synchro.
