KUALA LUMPUR:
Professional shuttler Soong Joo Ven continued his excellent run to advance to the semifinals of the Korean Masters after defeating Israeli Misha Zilberman in the last eight today.

Joo Ven advanced to the final four of the men’s singles after a 23-21, 21-18 victory over his opponent in a match that lasted 48 minutes at the Gwangju Yeonju Stadium.

The 26-year-old will face Japan’s Kodai Naraoka in the semifinals tomorrow.

Mixed doubles pair Goh Soon Huat-Shevon Jemie Lai also sealed a win to book a semifinal slot after beating Singaporeans Terry Hee Yong Kai-Tan Wei Han in straight games.

The national pair, who are seeded fourth in the tournament, won 21-16, 21-11 in today’s quarterfinal match.

Awaiting Soon Huat-Shevon Lai in tomorrow’s semifinals are China’s Ou Xuan Yi-Huang Ya Qiong.
