KUALA LUMPUR:
Malaysia has been assured the Spanish International women’s singles badminton title as S Kisona and Goh Jin Wei set up a final against each other in La Nucia later today.

Fourth seed Kisona, the 2019 SEA Games gold medallist, stormed into the final after trouncing unseeded French player Yaelle Hoyaux 21-18, 21-10 in just 36 minutes.

In the other semifinal, which was an-all Malaysian affair, former world junior champion Jin Wei took just 26 minutes to advance, winning against Eoon Qi Xuan 21-17, 21-11.

Meanwhile, mixed pair Tee Kai Wun-Teoh Mei Xing continued their fine form by beating Russian duo Rodion Kargaev-Viktoriia Vorobeva 21-17, 21-16 to book their final slot.

Third seeds Callum Hemming-Jessica Pugh of England await them after the English duo thrashed second-seeded Austrian pair Philip Birker-Katharina Hochmeir 21-13, 21-11.
