KUALA LUMPUR:
Khairulamirin Yahaya has created history as the first Malaysian to compete in the European S4 Supermoto Championships with the Supermotoland Husqvarna Junior Talent Team.

The 19-year-old, who has been competing in the Spanish Supermoto for two years, will further develop his racing career by competing in the European championship scheduled to be held on June 27 at the Abruzzo Grand Prix in Ortona, Italy.

Khairulamirin, who joined the Junior Talent Team last year, will compete in the S4 class after his impressive performances in the Spanish Supermoto.

According to the Supermotoland website, the S4 class is a new class for 2021, perfect for racers from a road racing background since there is no dirt section with jumps compared to the S1GP and S2 classes.

The S4 European championship is the highest level of Supermoto road racing in the world, and Khairulamirin will need to learn the new tracks quickly in order to be competitive at the races, especially against top home-grown talent.

Just two weeks before the GP in Italy, Khairulamirin and the Supermotoland Husqvarna Junior Talent team will be contesting in the final round of the Spanish Supermoto at Albaida in Valencia.
