PUTRAJAYA:
Hamidin Amin has been returned unopposed as the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) president for the 2021-2025 term at the 57th FAM Congress today.

It is the second term for Hamidin, also the president of the Malaysian Football League, after winning the FAM top post unchallenged in July 2018 to replace Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim.

The absence of competition for the two deputy presidential posts saw Yusoff Mahadi retaining his seat while S. Sivasundaram replaced Subahan Kamal, who did not defend his position.

The competition to fill the four vice-presidential posts saw Rosmadi Ismail garnering the highest votes with 36, followed by Joehari Ayub (35), Firdaus Mohamed (32) and Posa Majai (30).

Former deputy president Afandi Hamzah failed in his comeback bid when he could only garner 27 votes.

A total of 20 delegates attended the FAM Congress, which lasted more than three hours, with two votes given to each delegate.
