Wei Chong-Pearly took only 27 minutes to crush the Philippines SEA Games gold medallists 21-18, 21-13.
Victory is sweeter as the World No 89 Malaysians are making their debut at a Super 500 event.
Pearly admits she was not confident of their chances of winning after viewing footage of the Indonesians.
She and her partner were nervous but got on-court without feeling any pressure to win and that gave them the ability to showcase their talent.
“We did not expect to win this match,” said an ecstatic Pearly.
“My partner (Wei Chong) and I supported each other while keeping cool. We just gave our best.
“We were nervous but when we entered the court, we didn’t think of anything else.
“We played well while our opponents were under great pressure and succumbed to errors.”
Wei Chong was surprised with their triumph as they were only paired for specific tournaments by their coaches.
The pair will be facing another strong rival from Indonesia, Hafiz Faizal-Gloria Emanuelle Widjaja, the world No 9 pair, in the second round later today.
It was double joy for Pearly as she also made it to the second round of the women’s doubles competition with M Thinaah after the duo defeated teammates Anna Cheong-Lim Chiew Sien 21-15, 21-10.
They became Malaysia’s sole representatives in women’s event after Teoh Mei Xing-Yap Ling lost to Japanese duo, Nami Matsuyama-Chiharu Shida, 19-21, 14-21.
Pearly-Thinaah will next face Greysia Polii-Apriyani Rahayu from Indonesia who defeated South Koreans, Baek Ha Na-Jung Kyung Eun, 21-17, 20-22, 23-21.

In the men’s singles event, Lee Zii Jia disposed of tournament third seed Anders Antonsen in a hard-fought battle.
Zii Jia lost the first set to the world No 4 but came roaring back in the next two to win 14-21, 21-15, 21-8.
“Thanks to the home fans for their support. I lost in the first set and that put some pressure on me,” he said after scoring his first win over Antonsen.
“Luckily, in the second set, the coach (Hendrawan) told to enjoy the match and I played much better in second and third sets.”
The world No 14 will next face facing Sameer Verma of India who got past Thailand’s Kantaphon Wangcharoen 21-16, 21-15.
Independent player Liew Daren could not accompany Zii Jia into the second round after going down to Indonesia’s Jonatan Christie, 10-21, 21-16, 15-21.
One of the day’s biggest shock is defending champion Lin Dan of China was shown the exit by Denmark’s Jan O Jorgensen in straight sets 21-19, 21-18.
In the mixed doubles, Chan Peng Soon-Goh Liu Ying and Goh Soon Huat-Shevon Lai cruised into the second round.
Peng Soon-Liu Ying defeated fellow Malaysians Low Hang Yee-Lim Chiew Sien 21-7, 21-11.
While Soon Huat-Shevon Lai bested China’s He Ji Ting-Du Yue 21-12, 21-19.
