PETALING JAYA:
Young sprinter Haiqal Hanafi stunned a strong field to bag the Manila SEA Games 100m gold medal today.

The 20-year-old achieved his feat in 10.35s to finish ahead of Thais Ruttanapon Sowan (10.49s) and Bandit Chuangchai (10.52s).

Another Malaysian, Jonathan Nyepa, finished fourth.

Haiqal’s surprise win means Malaysia will keep the title Khairul Hafiz Jantan won at KL 2017 for at least another two years.
