“Nowadays we have social media; everyone can write anything, let them do what they want.”
The 65-year-old, who has tasted World Cup victories as a coach with Holland’s men’s and women’s teams, has a two-year contract until October 2020.
The team had earlier missed a golden chance to qualify for Tokyo 2020 when they lost a penalty shootout to Japan in the 2018 Asian Games final.
The gold medallists qualify automatically as Asian champions.
Malaysia last played at the Olympics in 2000 (Sydney).
