Written off after a 3-3 home draw in the first leg last week, the Red Eagles proved their desire to win by battling to a 5-5 draw at Darul Makmur Stadium to go through on away goals.

Coached by Singaporean Aidil Sharin Sahak, Kedah went ahead through Fernando Rodriguez in the eighth minute but Nigerian Dickson Nwakaeme equalised 12 minutes before halftime.

Argentine Jonathan Bauman then put the visitors in front shortly after interval but Namibian striker Lazarus Kaimbi’s two quick goals (71st and 76th minutes) handed the initiative back to Pahang.

The Dungun native struck in the 24th, 46th and 51st minutes to send the Super League champions through 5-1 on aggregate.

The Kedah-JDT duel – a repeat of the 2017 final – will be at the National Stadium in Bukit Jalil next Saturday.
