KUALA LUMPUR: Bowler Shalin Zulkifli just refuses to go away.
The 41-year-old, whose career was feared over after exclusion from the World Championships squad in August, emerged women’s singles gold medallist at the Asian Championships today in Kuwait.
The three-time world champion struck 1,498 pins to finish ahead of Indonesian Nadia Pramanik (1,492) on the first day of competition at Bowling Sporting Club.
Shalin’s compatriot Sin Li Jane won bronze with 1,471 pinfalls to complete the podium.
At the previous edition in Hong Kong (2016), Malaysia took home three gold, two silver and four bronze medals.
