However, he says the nerves will not stop him or his teammates from giving their best to take home the trophy to the silver state.
“Feeling nervous is normal for every player, but for me to be ready we need to be prepared and focused mentally and physically to face the challenge,” Shahrul said when contacted by Bernama.
“Our preparation is at a good level except for some minor tweaks needed to the offence and defence.”
Shahrul also believes coach Mehmet Durakovic will be able to field his best first XI on the night as there are no injury concerns in the team.
“Everyone is fit to play in the final, and no one is suffering from a suspension either. This is a big advantage for us as it will help the coach field the strongest team possible for the final,” he added.
Meanwhile, Perak defender Amirul Azhan Aznan says winning the FA Cup will be a sweet belated birthday present for him.
The 26-year-old who celebrated his birthday on Tuesday said: “Winning the FA Cup is very important to us.
“If I can help the team bring the Cup back to Perak it will be the best present I can give to myself and the fans as a professional football player.”
The former Malaysia international also added the final will be a balanced affair going by the pair’s recent head-to-head record.
“We’ve faced them many times in the Super League, and are very familiar with each other’s playstyle,” said Amirul Azhan.
“We hope to be able to have a read on their game and counter that in the final.
“Coach Mehmet has also drafted a game plan to stifle their best players.”
