The Great Wall puts a stop to Malaysia’s gallant run at Indonesian Open

The first and second-seeded Chinese pairs will face off in the mixed doubles final at the Indonesian Open.

KUALA LUMPUR:
Malaysia’s campaign at the Indonesian Open ended at the semi-final stage on Saturday as both mixed doubles pair were dumped out.

Professional pair Chan Peng Soon-Goh Liu Ying were defeated by second-seeded Chinese pair Wang Yilyu-Huang Dongping 21-13, 22-20.

China then completed the semi-final sweep of Malaysia when Zheng Siwei-Huang Yaqiong were victorious over unseeded pair Tan Kian Meng-Lai Pei Jing.

The first seeds ended Tan-Lai’s fine run in the tournament in straight sets 21-12, 21-16.

The next tournament for Malaysian players is the Japan Open from July 23-28 in Tokyo.
