German FA boss Grindel to resign on Tuesday

Grindel had been under mounting pressure over reports regarding income from a DFB subsidiary and a present he had received from a foreign colleague.

BERLIN:
German Football Association President Reinhard Grindel is to resign on Tuesday, German magazine Der Spiegel’s online edition said.

Grindel, who took over the world’s biggest sports federation by membership in 2016, had been under mounting pressure over reports regarding income from a DFB subsidiary and a present he had received from a foreign colleague.

The DFB was not immediately available for comment.
