NEWCASTLE:
Newcastle United midfielder Sean Longstaff could miss the rest of the Premier League season after sustaining a knee injury, the club said on Thursday.

The 21-year-old academy graduate, who has made 13 appearances for Newcastle in all competitions this season, was injured in Saturday’s 2-0 defeat at West Ham as he challenged Robert Snodgrass for the ball. He was substituted at halftime.

“Newcastle United can confirm midfielder Sean Longstaff is likely to miss the remainder of the 2018/19 season with a knee ligament injury,” the club said in a statement.

Newcastle are 14th in the standings with nine games to go and host Everton in the league on Saturday.
