GUINGAMP: Guingamp, the bottom side in France’s Ligue 1, have appointed Jocelyn Gourvennec as their new coach, the club said on Thursday.
“Guingamp and Jocelyn Gourvennec confirm they have reached an agreement in principle to together write a new page in the club’s history,” the Breton side said in a statement. “The coach will begin work from Monday, November 12.”
Guingamp fired Antoine Kombouaré on Wednesday after just one win in 12 games left them at the bottom of the league.
Gourvennec is a 46-year old former midfielder who coached Guingamp between 2010 and 2016 and led them to their most recent title, the 2014 Coupe de France. He was most recently boss at Bordeaux.
