Selangor team manager Amirudin Shari said the FAS had decided to release the player who will join Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) after both parties agreed with the offer made by JDT.
He declined to divulge details of the agreement and the amount for the transfer.
“The Selangor team is still discussing on signing a player who has the ability to fill the vacuum left by Mohd Azrif.
“More information on the newcomer will be announced before the window period for the transfer ends (tomorrow),” he said in a statement here today.
Mohd Azrif had demanded FAS release him to enable him to join JDT. He was also willing to buy out the remainder of his contract with FAS worth RM720,000.
Meanwhile, Amirudin said the Red Giants squad would be strengthened with five players from the President’s Cup squad (Under 21).
They are K. Sarkunan, Mohd Faizzudin Mohd Abidin, A.Namathevan, K. Kannan and Badrul Amin Rusalan.
