For goodness’ sake, this is the 21st century. Not only have we not moved forward, we have, in fact, made the country archaic and absurd.
We allow racial rants and religious bigotry to thrive. In fact, those behind these antics are getting bolder and more abrasive by the day. In some instances, the altercations are not just words, but have turned physical. Malaysia must stop this curse right here and right now. Disband all political parties based on race and religion.
When the support of a political party is based on a single race or religion, what can we expect? When the crunch comes, how do we expect that party to be magnanimous and inclusive? On what basis is our supposition based?
Racists and religious bigots always argue that they want to see their people united. May I know united for what? So that they can dominate and bully others when push comes to shove? Why can’t they bridge the gap and seek unity with Malaysians of other racial and religious backgrounds to attain greater good for Malaysia?
For more than 60 years, what has racial politics and religious bigotry achieved for Malaysia and Malaysians? As far as I know, those who were left behind have continued to stay behind. Those who were poorly educated and ignorant have remained indoctrinated and subjugated. Where is the enlightenment based on racial and religious supremacy?
There is only one objective that racial and religious politics intends to achieve: using race and religion to seek and enjoy power. They enrich the elite and the clergies in the name of race and religion while the people are left with scum.
The forces of logic and reason must prevail over parochialism and backwardness. Race and religion have not worked in the past and they will not work now, nor in the future.
