PETALING JAYA:
The standards department urged the public not to be deceived by fake government purchase order documents and vendor appointment letters issued through unofficial channels.

The department said it has never issued such documents and reminded the public and vendors that official procurements follow established financial procedures and are conducted transparently through the government’s e-procurement system.

“We urge the public to stay vigilant and not be misled by suspicious documents or persons falsely claiming to represent the department.

“The department takes this issue seriously, with the necessary legal action being pursued,” it said in a statement.

The department said verification should be done directly through its official channels before any transaction to avoid potential losses.

The standards department is an agency under the investment, trade and industry ministry.
