
The political analyst arrived at 9.50am to assist an ongoing investigation into alleged misconduct linked to a RM1.1 billion government deal with chipmaker Arm Holdings signed in March last year, Bernama reported.
Yesterday, Chai, who is also a witness in the investigation, spent more than eight hours giving his statement to MACC. On Tuesday, he spent about eight-and-a-half hours at MACC’s headquarters recording his statement.
The case is being investigated under Section 23 of the MACC Act 2009 over a government-funded semiconductor project worth RM1.1 billion.
MACC chief commissioner Azam Baki previously said 12 witnesses from various government agencies, including a former minister, had given their statements to assist in the investigation.
The other officials included top officers in the economy ministry, the investment, trade and industry ministry, and the Malaysian Investment Development Authority.
