Berita Harian reported that the seizure involved 14 assets — seven residential properties, three office units and four plots of land.
A source said a Selangor MACC team carried out the seizures during a series of raids today.
“Based on current market value, the total value of the seized assets is estimated at RM18.36 million,” the source said.
MACC previously seized 18 luxury vehicles, including Porsches and a Mercedes-Benz, as well as luxury watches as part of the probe.
MACC has also frozen 33 bank accounts holding a total of RM120 million.
MACC chief commissioner Azam Baki yesterday said the NGO received donations from various sources. Some of these funds were meant to be channelled to the needy.
However, the money did not reach their intended beneficiaries, he added.
“Instead, some people misappropriated the funds for personal gain, including the purchase of luxury assets,” he said.
The three suspects, in their 50s and 60s, are believed to have colluded to commit the offences between 2018 and 2024. Two of the men are company directors.
The deputy chairman of the NGO had allegedly transferred the RM230 million into his company’s bank accounts for personal and investment purposes.
