Sabah MACC director Fuad Bee Basrah, when contacted by the Malay daily, confirmed the arrest and said the case is being investigated under Section 18 of the MACC Act 2009 for the offence of intending to deceive a principal by an agent.

Yesterday, the Daily Express reported that Sabah MACC had arrested a civil servant for submitting falsified documents linked to cleaning work worth approximately RM1.3 million.

The suspect, arrested at 11am on Monday while giving his statement at the MACC office in Kota Kinabalu, is believed to have committed the offence in 2024.

“He is suspected of submitting falsified bank statements to secure a cleaning services contract at police premises in the state for the duration of February 2025 to January 2027,” a source was quoted as saying.
