Sinar Harian reported Tawau police chief Jasmin Hussin as saying that the suspect lost his temper when the victim reprimanded him, injuring the victim’s left hand with a fish knife.
The victim sought treatment for his hand at Tawau Hospital and lodged a police report soon after.
“Following the incident, a team from the Tawau criminal investigation division tracked down the 21-year-old suspect, who was arrested along Jalan Habib Hussein.
“A 33cm knife and a white plastic bag believed to be linked to the case were also seized,” he said.
Jasmin said the case is being investigated under Section 324 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapons or means.
