Malaysians living near US embassy in Doha urged to shelter elsewhere

The Malaysian embassy says this applies to those residing within a 1.5km radius.

Malaysians living near the US embassy in Doha, Qatar, have been advised to seek shelter elsewhere due to the risk of an attack.

In a Facebook post, the Malaysian embassy said the notice applies to all residents within a 1.5km radius of the US embassy in Al Rayyan.

The Malaysian embassy said the situation in Qatar is relatively calm for now, but advised all Malaysians to remain vigilant. Those requiring assistance may contact the embassy at +974-3374-6733 or email [email protected].

The US embassy also noted the announcement by Qatar’s interior ministry that it is evacuating residents living near the embassy as a temporary precautionary measure.

“Out of an abundance of caution, please avoid the immediate area of the US embassy,” it posted on X on Thursday.
