PETALING JAYA:
An elderly woman and her son were found dead in their flat in Teluk Kumbar, Penang, yesterday after their neighbours noticed a foul smell coming from the unit.

A Penang fire and rescue department spokesman said the cops called them at 7.48pm seeking their assistance to open the flat’s door, which was locked from the inside, Berita Harian reported.

The spokesman said medical officers confirmed the deaths of the woman and her son, who were found in the living room and bedroom.

The deceased were identified as Lee Tet Khim, 72, and Lam Tong Hoong, 39.
