PETALING JAYA: A motorcyclist was killed while his pillion rider suffered serious injuries after a police pickup truck crashed into them in Kangar, Perlis, last night.
Kangar police chief Yusharifuddin Yusop said the police vehicle was on patrol when it collided into the pair at around 10.20pm. The incident is believed to have been caused by the driver’s negligence.
“A 24-year-old motorcyclist died at the scene while the pillion rider, 25, was injured. The officer driving the police vehicle has been arrested for further investigation,” he said, according to Harian Metro.
The case is being probed for causing death by reckless or dangerous driving.
