Already assured of a spot at next month’s World Tour Finals in China, Wei Chong-Kai Wun will face Indonesia’s Raymond Indra-Nikolaus Joaquin in the last eight.

The Indonesians had defeated Choong Hon Jian-Haikal Nazri 21-18, 17-21, 15-21 in 64 minutes to prevent them from setting up an all-Malaysian clash in the quarter-finals.

However, Macau Open champions Wan Arif Wan Junaidi-Yap Roy King bowed out in the last 16, falling 21-19, 21-13 to the South Korea-Malaysia pairing of Choi Sol Gyu-Goh V Shem in 36 minutes.

Separately, world mixed doubles champions Chen Tang Jie-Toh Ee Wei advanced to the quarter-finals with an easy win over Taiwan’s Liu Kuang Heng-Jheng Yu Chieh.

They won 21-16, 21-14 in 30 minutes to set up a clash with another Taiwanese pair, Ye Hong Wei-Nicole Gonzales Chan, in the last eight tomorrow.
