In a statement today, the company said both parties will explore various collaboration structures under the MoU.
It said this includes joint ventures on selected parcels, direct land acquisitions by MRCB or equity participation in RUA-sponsored investment platforms, and other mutually agreed development models for certain land parcels within the project.
“As a GLC with a proven track record as a nation-builder, MRCB is well-placed to contribute world-class development expertise to one of the most meaningful destinations for the global Muslim community, performing the umrah and the haj,” it said.
King Salman Gate, located adjacent to AlMasjid AlHaram, spans 129.17 million sq ft of gross floor area and is designed as a modern, pedestrian-friendly mixed-use destination to enhance the pilgrim experience, with capacity for about 900,000 indoor and outdoor worshippers.
MCRB group managing director Imran Salim said Mecca holds a special place in the hearts of all Muslims, and that it was an honour for MRCB to support a project of such spiritual and global significance.
“Our experience in transit-oriented developments and integrated urban regeneration projects places us in a strong position to complement RUA AlHaram AlMakki’s vision for King Salman Gate, and we look forward to contributing our expertise while deepening Malaysia-Saudi development ties,” he said.
The MoU was signed at Cityscape Global 2025 in Riyadh.
