“Sabah First”, which is the first pillar in the manifesto, sets out four main strategies to protect Sabah’s rights under the Federal Constitution, the Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63), safeguard sovereignty, and secure the state’s territorial integrity.
The coalition also pledges to fast-track the implementation of these rights, secure 40% of federal revenue collected in Sabah, strengthen territorial security, and deepen regional autonomy.
Another key pillar, “Sabah United”, focuses on strengthening unity in a multi-ethnic, multi-religious state while promoting inclusive growth so that “no community is left behind”.
Its strategies include celebrating diversity and respecting the rights and interests of all races and religions, emphasising inclusivity to ensure every Sabah child and all segments of society have fair access and opportunities for social mobility, and fostering a sense of belonging and shared responsibility through the “Rumah Kita, Kita Jaga” initiative.
Under this same pillar, GRS has also pledged to position the coalition as a platform to unite local parties, build political stability in the state, and strengthen Sabah’s political influence within Malaysia.
