PETALING JAYA:
Deputy Segambut Bersatu chief Adam Radlan Adam Muhammad, who is wanted by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission to assist in an investigation, is believed to be abroad.

MACC chief Azam Baki said the agency would be working with the immigration department to determine the whereabouts of the 44-year-old businessman.

“We suspect that he’s overseas. We will work with the immigration department on this soon. We also urge him to return to Malaysia to assist in the investigation,” he said, according to Berita Harian.

Yesterday, MACC said it was looking for Adam Radlan to assist in an investigation, with those who know of his whereabouts asked to contact investigating officer G Sharan Raj at 014-3560771 or via email at [email protected].

Adam Radlan was acquitted of all 12 charges in August after the prosecution accepted his offer to pay a RM4.1 million compound fine under Section 92(1) of the Anti-Money Laundering, Anti-Terrorism Financing and Proceeds of Unlawful Activities Act 2001.

He had been charged with five counts of soliciting and accepting up to RM9.9 million in bribes to help two companies secure projects linked to the Perikatan Nasional government’s Jana Wibawa programme, an economic empowerment initiative for Bumiputera contractors launched during the Covid-19 pandemic.

He also faced seven charges of laundering involving more than RM3 million.
