
Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) is fielding Joeynodd Aiiko Ronald C Bansin of Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS), Pakatan Harapan has nominated PKR’S Remysta Taylor while Perikatan Nasional has nominated Francis Mojikon of Bersatu.
Warisan is fielding vice-president Terrence Siambun, and Upko has chosen deputy president Donald Peter Mojuntin. Both of them previously served as assemblyman for Moyog.
Warisan deputy president Darell Leiking won the seat in the 2020 state polls with a 5,935-vote majority, but opted not to defend it this time around.
Other candidates in the running include Mckery Victor Ninin (Parti Kesejahteraan Demokratik Masyarakat) and Joe Suleiman (Parti Solidariti Tanah Airku).
The rest are Cleftus Stephen Spine (Parti Impian Sabah), Richard Ronald Dompok (Parti Kebangsaan Sabah), Walter Norbert Johnny (Parti Bumi Kenyalang), and independent candidates, Peter Maurice Lidadun and Ricky Chang.
Moyog, a semi-urban seat within the Penampang parliamentary constituency, has historically drawn strong interest, having changed hands between Warisan, PKR, Barisan Nasional and PBS in previous election cycles.
Campaigning begins today and will run for 14 days, ending at 11.59pm on Nov 28.
According to data from the Election Commission, 1,784,843 voters are eligible to vote in the election based on the electoral roll as of August.
