PETALING JAYA:
A road near SK Bandar Tasik Kesuma in Semenyih, Selangor, has been temporarily closed off after a sinkhole 4m deep opened up there yesterday morning.

Kajang Municipal Council (MPKj) corporate planning and public relations director Kamarul Izlan Sulaiman said investigations found that the sinkhole occurred near a sewer utility pipeline.

“MPKj has already notified the agency responsible for further action,” Harian Metro reported him as saying.

A 30-second video has been widely shared on social media, showing the sinkhole and water flowing in it.

It received the attention of Semenyih constituency coordinator Johan Abd Aziz, who said his office had reported the matter to MPKj.

He advised road users, especially parents picking up their children from school, to be cautious and avoid the road in question until repairs are complete.
