In a statement, Sabah BN chairman Bung Moktar Radin said the coalition decided to field the additional candidates in view of negotiations with allies and “recent developments”.
BN will field Chin Kim Hiung for the Karamunting seat, for which George Hiew will be vying on a PKR ticket in the state polls.
Hiew, a two-term assemblyman, was formerly from Warisan but joined Gagasan Rakyat in 2023. He was with DAP before joining Warisan in 2016.
He was among the 10 candidates announced by PKR on Sunday.
BN will also contest the Bandau, Kemabong and Kukusan seats, fielding Willey Lampaki, Rahmah Jan Sulaiman and Chaya Sulaiman, respectively.
Chaya contested the Kukusan seat in the 2020 state election but lost to Warisan’s Rina Jainal by just 10 votes.
