On Nov 1, the Borneo Post reported that Upko was planning to contest several GRS-held seats, including Limbahau, Kiulu and Tamparuli.
In the last state election, Dr Joachim Gunsalam – the acting PBS president – won the Kundasang seat in a five-cornered contest with a 1,422-majority.
The Election Commission has set Nov 29 as polling day, with nomination day on Nov 15 and early voting on Nov 25.
