Cops nab housemate of woman found dead in Seri Kembangan

Police have arrested a fourth suspect in their probe into the murder of a woman found dead, naked and with her hands bound, near the Blue Water Estate roundabout in Seri Kembangan, Selangor.

Serdang police chief Farid Ahmad said the fourth suspect, a woman in her 30s, was a housemate of the victim and that they shared a home in Taman Castlefield, Cheras.

He said the woman, who is unemployed, was arrested at the Serdang police headquarters on Sunday.

“In total, we have arrested four suspects, including the three men who were detained on Friday.

“We are still tracking down a few others to help us complete our investigations,” he was quoted by Sinar Harian as saying.

He said police have recorded statements from eight people so far, including the victim’s neighbour and close friend.

“We are in the midst of obtaining a further remand order for the first three suspects who were initially remanded for five days,” Farid said.

He also urged those with information on the victim to contact the nearest police station or the Serdang police headquarters at 03-8074 2222.

On Oct 31, police said they arrested three people, including the victim’s ex-boyfriend and her stepbrother, to help in the probe.

He said the woman’s family had lodged a police report on her disappearance before her body was found on Wednesday.
